Robot study material for embedded engineer training released

- Embedded Programming, Motor Control, PID/Modern Control Theory-

March 28th, 2011, ZMP INC. (Tokyo, Bunkyo ward, CEO: Hisashi Taniguchi) began to sell the “e-nuvo BASIC & WHEEL Global Package” which is package product of our popular product “Motor control experiment kit e-nuvo BASIC”, “Wheeled robot e-nuvo WHEEL” and textbooks written in English. The price is US$8,600. User can also purchase “e-nuvo BASIC” and “e-nuvo WHEEL” separately.

- Background

ZMP have been providing the training curriculum using robots since 2004 toward training needs for practical engineers. Recently, computerization is rapidly spread in the manufacturing industry including the automotive industry. Various devices and applications using sensors have sprung up around the world. The engineer who has skills of developing embedded system using sensors, computer and actuators are required not only in Japan but also in abroad. Therefore, we release this product to respond these needs.

- About “e-nuvo BASIC & WHEEL Global Package”

- About “e-nuvo BASIC” and ”e-nuvo WHEEL”

e-nuvo BASIC” is the experimental kit to study the basics of electronic devices such as motors, potentiometers, LEDs, Motor Control using a microprocessor including themes such as A/D conversion, PWM, Feedback control etc. “e-nuvo WHEEL” is two-wheeled inverted pendulum robot. Students/engineers can use this robot as not only two-wheeled inverted pendulum but also line tracing and inverted pendulum by changing some mechanical parts. This robot permits them to understand embedded system and its programming, Motion equation, Motor control theory (PID and Modern Control) and also to understand how to use sensors such as encoders and gyros in algorithms. The student also gets to learn about analysis and simulation through the use of the well-established tools from MATLAB/Simulink. "e-nuvo BASIC" and "e-nuvo WHEEL" are popular ZMP product which is used for engineer training for global company such as automotive and electric industry and a lot of universities, technical colleges and so on.

About ZMP INC.

The company was established in January 2001, based on the results of the research encouraged by the Kitano Symbiotic System Project, under the jurisdiction of Japan‘s MEXT. Along with the sales of our humanoid robots Pino and nuvo, we developed our home robot business with the music robot miuro. Miuro received an award from the Robotics Society of Japan, as well as the Robot of the Year award from the METI in 2007 in the category small and medium ventures. Our RT(Robot Technology) solutions business, e-nuvo, also received the Robot of the Year award in 2008, handed by the head of the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN (SMERJ). From 2009, we released Car Robotics Platform RoboCar® series for R&D field of EV or next generation mobility. Also we released 9-axis wireless motion sensor IMU-Z for R&D field of healthcare. ZMP is an innovative company constantly exploring new fields.
