At the Doshisha University Mobility Research Center, in developing countries which are entering an aging society, developing traffic disasters and environmental degradation accompanies the spread of motorization, the paradigm shift of mobility in the background of recent technological innovation concerning information and communication. Integration of sensing, automatic control and robot technology is required based on information communication technology. On the other hand, it is also essential to release the system to society and consider the system taking into consideration, the construction of complementary relations between conventional transportation means such as cars and future mobility. In the research center, information systems, control systems, and social systems are closely coordinated and integrated. We are researching and developing new technologies to realize mobility change towards the future and dissemination to society.
In 2014, it was adopted as "Evolutionary Adaptive Motor Driver System Driver - In-the-Loop Research Base" for the Private University Strategic Research Base Formation Support Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and "Software Agent Architecture "Active safety sensing and control technology supporting elderly drivers", "Human biological information multidimensional analysis technology for constructing driving behavior models of elderly people", "Sensor information communication platform considering reliability and safety" We conduct research, field trials, and industry, government and academia collaboration.
RoboCar® MV 2, an autonomous driving development platform of ZMP, is used for experimental vehicles in this research. RoboCar® MV 2 is an autonomous driving development platform modified on the basis of a commercially available one-seater electric vehicle so that the vehicle can be controlled from an external computer. The user can easily control the vehicle with the sample program installed on the attached PC. Also, using the information of API (Application Programming Interface) provided for communication with RoboCar®, users can control vehicles from their own computers, and many development related to autonomous driving and ADAS (advanced driving support system) We are using it for people.
In addition to RoboCar® MV 2 introduced at Doshisha University Mobility Research Center at ZMP, RoboCar® MV 2 Remote Operation Package "RoboCar® MV 2 Remote Operation Package" with additional PC, Wi-Fi Router and Steering Controller for Remote Operation for customers wishing to conduct remote control experiments.We also offer "RoboCar® MiniVan Autoware Package" equipped with Autoware, an automatic operation open source software, for customers who want to start experiments of automatic driving at low cost quickly. We also offer ZMP's proprietary automatic operation computing platform "IZAC®".
We will continue to contribute to the development of Autonomous Driving technology through provision of an Autonomous Driving development platform and support with demonstration experiments.
