【Introductory case introduction】 Autonomous operation development platform RoboCar® MV 2 Doshisha University Mobility Research Center Utilization for research and development of autonomous driving technology

RoboCar® MV 2 introduced at Doshisha University Mobility Research Center and the state of the experiment

Autonomous driving development platform RoboCar® MV 2 sold by ZMP Co., Ltd. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Hisashi Taniguchi, hereinafter referred to as ZMP) was introduced as an experimental vehicle for research and field trials at Doshisha University Mobility Research Center, It is utilized in technology research and development. We are pleased to announce the case introduction on our website this time.

【RoboCar® MV 2 Application Case Study】 Doshisha University Mobility Research Centerhttps://www.zmp.co.jp/case/mv2_180426

At the Doshisha University Mobility Research Center, in developing countries that are entering into an aging society, developing traffic disasters and environmental degradation accompanying the spread of motorization, the paradigm shift of mobility (mobility) in the background of recent technological innovation concerning information and communication , It is necessary to combine sensing, automatic control and robot technology based on information communication technology. On the other hand, dissemination to society and examination of institution are also indispensable considering the construction of complementary relationship between conventional transportation means such as cars and future type mobility. The research center is research and development of new technologies and dissemination to society to realize mobility change towards the future by closely coordinating and integrating information systems, control systems, social systems and further considering biological information We are studying.
In 2014, it was adopted as "Evolutionary Adaptive Motor Driver System Driver - In-the-Loop Research Base" for the Private University Strategic Research Base Formation Support Project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and "Software Agent Architecture "Active safety sensing and control technology supporting elderly drivers", "Human biological information multidimensional analysis technology for constructing driving behavior models of elderly people", "Sensor information communication platform considering reliability and safety" We conduct research, field trials, and industry, government and academia collaboration.

RoboCar® MV 2, an autonomous driving development platform of ZMP, is used for experimental vehicles in this research. RoboCar® MV 2 is an autonomous driving development platform modified on the basis of a commercially available one-seater electric vehicle so that the vehicle can be controlled from an external computer. The user can easily control the vehicle with the sample program installed on the attached PC. Also, using the information of API (Application Programming Interface) provided for communication with RoboCar®, users can control vehicles from their own computers, and many development related to autonomous driving and ADAS (advanced driving support system) We are using it for people.

In addition to RoboCar® MV 2 introduced at Doshisha University Mobility Research Center at ZMP, RoboCar® MV 2 Remote Operation Package "RoboCar® MV 2 Remote Operation Package" with additional PC, Wi-Fi Router and Steering Controller for Remote Operation for customers wishing to conduct remote control experiments. We also offer "RoboCar® MiniVan Autoware Package" equipped with Autoware, an automatic operation open source software, for customers who want to start experiments of automatic driving at low cost quickly. We also offer ZMP's proprietary automatic operation computing platform "IZAC®".

We will continue to contribute to improving autonomous driving technology through provision of an autonomous driving development platform and support for demonstration experiments.
