ZMP Inc. (Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, CEO: Taniguchi Hisashi ) has began the sale for the POWER WHEEL II entry package for computer controllable research and development.

It is a package that comes with the monitor, mouse, keyboard required for the development of the moving truck platform POWER WHEEL II.

POWER WHEEL II is capable of running for 8 hours * on six wheels (center drive wheel × 2, freely wheel × 4) truck of independent two-wheel drive system equipped with a large capacity lithium ion battery and a high output motor. The loading space is 650 mm wide x 950 mm deep and the maximum loading weight is 100 kg and it is possible to install various experimental equipment. As standard sensors, high precision rotary encoders, inertial sensors, distance measuring sensors are mounted, and 2D laser range sensors can be mounted as optional sensors. It is also possible to perform remote control experiments using a communication function from an externally installed PC (option).

The control PC is equipped with a Linux PC, and as a software development environment (SDK), libraries and sample programs such as acquisition of various sensor information, motor drive, communication (WiFi) etc. are attached.With these, customers can freely develop applications.

Since the monitor, keyboard and mouse necessary for development are attached this time, it is possible to access the control PC on the spot, execute the sample program, edit the attached sample code, etc. easily.

In recent years, needs for autonomous conveyance / unmanned conveyance and mobile robot are increasing in logistics and manufacturing sites such as a decrease in the labor force due to a declining birthrate and an aging population.

This product was developed as a research and development platform of autonomous transportation / mobile robot which can carry out experiment for a long time with various experimental equipment loaded.

The price is 3.1 million yen (excluding tax) and will be on sale from today, scheduled for shipment in November 2018.
