Exhibited Logistics Support Robot CarriRo® at World Robot Summit (WRS)

- Demonstration of following mode logistics robot at the Haneda Robotics Lab booth at Haneda Airport -​ ​

Logistics support robot CarriRo

ZMP Inc. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Taniguchi Hisashi, hereafter ZMP) organized an exhibition at the Big Sight on October 17 (Wednesday) - October 21 (Sunday).We will exhibit the logistics support robot CarriRo at "World Robot Summit 2018" sponsored by the Ministry etc.

The logistic support robot CarriRo is a product developed using ZMP's Autonomous Driving technology typified by service demonstration of Autonomous Driving taxi carried out in the city since late August. We are selling it for the purpose of labor saving and efficiency improvement by reducing the burden of carrying work in the logistics industry, which has become rapidly under-represented due to the declining birthrate and aging population.

Currently, introductions are spreading through picking operations of logistics warehouses, inter-process delivery within factories, packages transportation at stations, airports, baggage cart collection, logistics at commercial facilities. The 2018 model which realized the improvement of the payload weight and the further running stability expanded the method of utilization by mounting the autonomous moving function.

At this exhibition, we will exhibit and demonstrate at the booth of "Haneda Robotics Lab" established by Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., which manages and operates Haneda Airport

【Logistics Support Robot CarriRo】
CarriRo is a bogie type logistic support robot having a drive mode that can be operated with a joystick in karugamo mode that automatically tracks a beacon (transmitter)and in an autonomous movement function.By utilizing CarriRo's function, it is possible to raise the productivity of transportation up to about 3 times at maximum.CarriRo alone can carry baggage up to 150 kg, CarriRo with optional traction fixture, carry about 300 kg of baggage for 8 hours continuously, improve efficiency of picking operations in warehouses and distribution centers.It is also possible to substitute a belt conveyor or AGV (automatic guided vehicle) by using it for inter-process conveyance.Moreover, since the work load is greatly reduced, it becomes possible for women and elderly people to carry out the transportation work which was regarded as hard labor so far, so it can be used for expanding workers and promoting employment.
