Logistics support robot CarriRo® introduced for the first time in the major stationery manufacturer's transportation business
-Achieving twice the amount of transport in conventional environments where it is difficult to secure transport conductors, contributing labor shortages and labor savings-
Logistics support robot CarriRo®AD (Autonomous Movement model) sold by ZMP Inc. in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo (CEO, Hisashi Taniguchi) is introduced to Kokuyo Co., Ltd. which is a leading stationery and furniture manufacturer. KOKUYO Co., Ltd., also operates KOKUYO LOGITEM Co., Ltd. having Head Office in Osaka (CEO, Takayuki Koshiba) as a logistics and office relocation services. CarriRo® FD has contributed to labor saving at office furniture transfer and office relocation sites. CarriRo® was first introduced in June 2019 for labor-saving commitment, now it has been used in moving and relocating services for the first time ever.
At the site of moving or relocating offices, it is reported that it is difficult to secure Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and automatic transfer robots because it is difficult to secure a predetermined transportation flow line due to the characteristics of the operation and the site environment changes each time. Accordingly, It has been the basics that work is done manually.
On the other hand, the Follow-up function of CarriRo® allows users to exclude the set-up step. Instead, CarriRo® itself can automatically follow and transport in the same direction of the leading person. The flexibility of this feature can bring out the best result in the transportation process.
At KOKUYO LOGITEM, the conventional flat type cart can be towed by CarriRo® by using the Follow-up mode. One device CarriRo® can draw one or two traditional conventional cars, therefore, the number of transported units increased by twice its amount. As a result, labor-saving and increased efficiency has been recognized.
In addition, the company is recommended to apply CarriRo® Ride, a board that is attached to CarriRo® in order to transport people, to reduce the walking burden for workers, eventually, the transportation loads will be decreased.
