Autonomous Driving technology development platform Vehicle RoboCar® HV

RoboCar® HV exterior (vehicle used at Saitama Institute of Technology)


This is a vehicle-type experimental platform for ADAS and Autonomous Driving R&D based on a commercial hybrid sedan vehicle (package including vehicle body and development environment).
It is used as a platform for Autonomous Driving technology development that can run on public roads, and is used for demonstration test, research and development for companies, universities, and research institutions.

The vehicle incorporates a ZMP control device in the vehicle so that vehicle control can be executed from an external device (attached PC or user-specific device). It is possible to control the movement of the vehicle such as running, turning, and stopping with a program (C, C ++) using the library provided by ZMP.

CAN communication protocol for controlling the vehicle is also disclosed, and the vehicle can be controlled from the user's own device. It is a vehicle hardware for Autonomous Driving technology development that can be used for Autonomous Driving and ADAS (advanced driving support system) development.

RoboCar® HV Autoware package

RoboCar® HV / MiniVan Autoware package is a robot car equipped with open source software "Autoware".
Autoware is an open source software for Autonomous Driving systems based on Linux and ROS (Robot Operating System), which was developed mainly at Nagoya University and published for research and development of Autonomous Driving.

ZMP's commercial vehicle-based Autonomous Driving technology development platform RoboCar HV / MiniVan is equipped with environmental sensors such as laser radars and cameras for Autonomous Driving and by implementing Autoware as Autonomous Driving software, it is possible to autonomously travel on the route given by the car navigation system while recognizing the position of the vehicle and surrounding objects.

ZMP selects the sensor and mounts it on the vehicle. In order to smoothly install Autoware and control the vehicle, RoboCar® SUV is tuned, and after running test on the test course, it is delivered as an Autonomous Driving system experimental vehicle. In addition, we provide technical support services to support the customers' for a smooth research and development of Autonomous Driving technology.
