Logistics support robot CarriRo® AD (Autonomous Movement model) sold by ZMP Inc. in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo (CEO, Hisashi Taniguchi) is introduced at Belle Maison Logisco Co., Ltd. in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture (CEO, Naoki Inuyama, hereinafter referred to as Belle Maison Logisco), a logistics center for a major catalog mail order of Sumitomo Corporation Group in July 2019 for the purpose of automating and saving labor in the collection and disposal of waste materials.

In the past, Belle Maison Logisco has consolidated collection sites for waste materials such as corrugated cardboard in one place, and has made efforts to simplify and shorten the flow line. However, since a hand cart is used for conveyance, there is a problem that the amount that can be carried at one time is small, and the operator has to reciprocate many times.

After the introduction of CarriRo® AD, while moving around in the work area, we stopped for several tens of seconds in front of each workstation and automated a series of work to load waste materials into the towing cart and transport it to the treatment plant. As a result, before its introduction, it took 3 or more worker to collect, process, and transport waste materials and now processing work can be done by one worker. Employees who work in the area will not place obstacles near the circuit path so that CarriRo® AD can run smoothly. We received comments that 2S (organized) of the entire work area was maintained and an orderly work environment was achieved.
