Logistics support robot CarriRo® AD equipped with external connection function

- CarriRo® AD external device linking model starts shipping from March, 2019 -

ZMP Inc. in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo (CEO, Hisashi Taniguchi, hereinafter referred as ZMP) installed a new function in CarriRo (Autonomous Moving model) which coordinates CarriRo® with external devices.At the timing when CarriRo® AD detects the variable landmark, the preset signal is output from the CarriRo® AD to the external device. Based on the output signal different external devices can he controlled.On the other hand, from the external device side, you can control CarriRo® AD by inputting driving instructions such as starting and stopping to CarriRo® AD.This will allow customers to connect CarriRo® AD and external equipment, thereby expanding the possibilities of various operations and contributing to further automation and labor saving.

By utilizing this function, the following operation becomes possible.
· Automatically isolate the towing vehicle pulling at a specific position in cooperation with the automatic towing withdrawal device
· Cooperate with PLC to automatically open and close the shutter and get on and off the elevator/lift
· Collaborate with PLC and manage running condition (running, stopped) etc., of multiple CarriRo® AD
· Cooperate with the conveyor and load and unload cargo automatically from CarriRo® AD

※ PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) receives information from connected sensors or input devices then processes the data, and triggers outputs based on pre-programmed parameters. Although it is getting widespread in factories and others, it is widely used to control elevators, automatic doors, lifters and others.









This function is installed in CarriRo® AD and will be shipped from March 2019. The price of this model will be 58,000 yen / month (For 5 year lease).

The logistics support robot CarriRo® is a product developed using ZMP 's Autonomous Driving technology. The purpose of CarriRo® is to save labor and increase efficiency by reducing load of carrying work in the logistics industry because of labor shortage due to the declining birthrate and aging population. The logistics support robot CarriRo® is particularly used in the logistics industry where human labor shortage is a severe crisis. Currently, CarriRo® has a track record of more than 100 users since the start of its sales and after the introduction of Autonomous Moving mode in November last year. CarriRo® has not only introduced in logistics bases and factories but also in-service industries like hotel.
