ZMP Inc. in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo (CEO, Hisashi Taniguchi, hereinafter referred to as ZMP) will start accepting orders for logistics support robot CarriRo® Towing attachment with automatic release. Up to now, CarriRo® has been selling attachments that can be attached to and detached from one-touch manual carts and slim carts. On the other hand, CarriRo® will be equipped with a function to automatically disconnect the traction at a specific point after the start in order to enhance the labor-saving effect. This product was introduced in advance and used in test operations at the logistics center of ITOCHU FOODS CO., LTD. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, President and CEO: Hitoshi Okamoto) prior to official shipment.

The usage method of the automatic release action in CarriRo® is as follows.
① Before use, put a marker indicating the position of variable landmark on the automatic departure point, CarriRo® Pippi (dedicated tablet application) sets the automatic release action at the variable landmark.
② With the cart to be pulled in contact with the attachment, Lift up the connecting part with the attached button.
③ Start CarriRo®.
④ When CarriRo® arrives at a preset point, the connection is automatically lifted down and the traction is disconnected. After that, it automatically moves to the next action.

Shipment starts from the end of November 2019. In addition, only CarriRo® AD (Equipped with external connection function) is supported, and the price is 250,000 JPY (excluding tax). The carts that can be used with this attachment are assumed to be general-purpose carts and slim carts of a specific size. Please contact us as other carts may be towable by customizing the connecting part.

The logistics support robot CarriRo® is a product developed using ZMP 's Autonomous Driving technology. The purpose of CarriRo® is to save labor and increase efficiency by reducing load of carrying work in the logistics industry because of labor shortage due to the declining birthrate and aging population. The logistics support robot CarriRo® is particularly used in the logistics industry where human labor shortage is a severe crisis. Currently, CarriRo® has a track record of more than 140 users since the start of its sales and after the introduction of Autonomous Moving mode in November last year. CarriRo® has not only introduced in logistics bases and factories but also in-service industries like hotel.
