Logistics Support Robot CarriRo: PoC base opens for automation solution with partner companies

ZMP Inc. (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Taniguchi Hisashi) has opened a new base for developing automation solutions and demonstrating with logistics support robots CarriRo's partner companies. We participated in the inter-company co-creation program "Techrum" established by Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President: Daisaku Matsuo) to solve various logistics-related issues. In the future, we will develop solutions and exhibit demos at "Narashino PoC Hub".
ZMP started the partner collaboration program "CarriRo Connecting Partners" in February 2021 and is currently implementing automation solutions with 16 companies. With the development of logistics DX, we have participated in "Techrum" with the aim of providing automation solutions more quickly and effectively to meet diversifying customer needs.
Companies with logistics-related technologies are participating in "Techrum,". Various effectiveness verifications for solving logistics issues, including logistics automation (labor saving / automation), will be possible from October 2021. "Techrum" will be opened as "Narashino PoC Hub" in Nomura Real Estate Development "Landport Narashino".
In "Narashino PoC Hub" we exhibit unmanned inventory solution by linking SATO HOLDINGS CORPORATION's RFID system and CarriRo, and an automated solution for loading and unloading from trucks by linking Computer Engineering & Consulting Ltd.'s berth reservation management system LogiPull and CarriRo. In the future, we plan to develop and exhibit various logistics solutions at this base with companies participating in CarriRo Connecting Partners.
This is an inter-company co-creation program started by Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. in April 2021 to optimize logistics operations such as efficient use of automated equipment. Utilizing the "Narashino PoC Hub" in the logistics facility "Landport Narashino" (Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture) operated by the company to solve problems and develop solutions through collaboration and combination of participating companies as an effect verification base, we dare to meet the participation criteria. We aim to solve various issues of shippers and logistics companies by participating in a wide range of companies without setting restrictions on sales channels or cooperation with other companies.

Logistics support robot CarriRo is the product developed from ZMP's autonomous driving technology such as Auto taxi. In the logistics industry, where labor is rapidly becoming scarce due to the declining birthrate and aging population, we are selling for the purpose of reducing the burden of transportation work and labor saving and efficiency improvement. Currently, we have introduced a total of about 250 users since the start of sales, and with the new added value of autonomous movement, we are expanding the introduction to various fields such as the service industry such as hotels, including distribution bases and factories.
[About Unmanned Forklift CarriRo Fork]
The unmanned forklift CarriRo Fork is a product developed by utilizing Autonomous Driving technology that ZMP has cultivated in Autonomous Driving The base vehicle for the forklift truck is made by Linde Material Handling. A Autonomous Driving fork operation, achieving an operating accuracy of ± 10 to 20 mm. This makes it possible to automate and save labor in pallet transportation for transportation work in distribution warehouses and factories. The feature is that it can be realized in a few days from the pre-mapping of the work area to the start of operation with a simple setup, which reduces the labor shortage, which is an urgent issue, and contributes to solving social issues.
