New model of Logistics support robot CarriRo® AD (autonomous movement model) starts shipping from the end of November 2018

ZMP Inc. (Tokyo Bunkyo-ku, CEO: Taniguchi Hisashi, hereafter "ZMP") released a new version of the logistics support robot "CarriRo®" Autonomous Movement Model "as CarriRo® AD which starts shipping from the end of November 2018.

ZMP has realized autonomous driving of CarriRo® by CarriRo® Visual Tracking method (patent pending) applying Autonomous Driving technology. CarriRo® AD identifies landmarks affixed to the road surface while traveling and acquires self position and driving instruction information by Image Recognition.By doing so, it becomes possible to carry out stable route travel without intervention of manpower.By setting the traveling route at the point as a landmark instead of setting it as a line like a general AGV it is possible to greatly reduce the labor and cost associated with route setting.

You can change the driving instructions on the landmark through the tablet, you can change the driving route each time by setting the running route as a pattern in advance.As a result, it is possible to flexibly operate according to the layout of the place of use and the work content. Also, the following tracking function that was previously installed can be used, and further improvement of productivity can be aimed at by separately using tracking function and autonomous moving function according to the contents of carrying work.

The current 2018 model (following mode) will continue to be sold as CarriRo® FD. Unmanned operation can be carried out using CarriRo® FD following the CarriRo® AD.As an entry package of one CarriRo® AD and two CarriRo® FDs can be given at a 5 year lease for 100,000 yen per month instead of 108,000 yen per month.

CarriRo® "Autonomous Movement Model" features the following:

① Prior knowledge* is unnecessary and it is possible to install a driving route in a short time.
② By constantly correcting the position with a landmark, it is strong against changes in the external environment, and it is possible to travel steadily.
③ Landmark settings can be easily changed through the tablet and flexible route setting is possible.
④ It is possible to introduce at reasonable price by using it together with follow-up function.
* Work for making the robot recognize the traveling route

There are two types of landmarks.They are Fixed type and variable type.Fixed type is for customers who want to use easily.It includes straightforward, right / left turn, U turn, temporary stop, simple notation and easy to understand notation.On the other hand, variable type is possible to recognize a plurality of traveling instruction information as a pattern through the tablet for each alphabet and the alphabet can be changed each time according to the layout of the place of use and the work content.
