Logistics support robot CarriRo® starts test operation at Kanagawa Robot Town

-For one month from February 15, 2020, verification of the first full-scale introduction of on-site logistics operations at Terrace Mall Shonan-

CarriRo® using tracking mode

The logistics support robot CarriRo® sold by ZMP Inc. in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo (CEO, Hisashi Taniguchi) was selected as "Kanagawa Robot Town" robot last year. "Kanagawa Robot Town" is one of the projects that Kanagawa Prefecture is promoting to realize "a society that coexists with robots". In this model space "Kanagawa Robot Town", we will carry out verification for the first full-scale introduction of CarriRo® in-house logistics business.

At present, we carry goods from the receiving place to each store by hand cart and many workers involved are women. Heavy loads are also transferred and due to the long length of the carrying wire, there are issues such as the load and man-hours involved in reciprocating walking even for small loads. In response to this problem, by using the CarriRo® follow-up function, workers can transport heavy objects just by walking in front of CarriRo®. It is assumed that labor will be saved by reducing the burden on workers, and work efficiency will be improved by increasing the transport amount. In addition, the optional CarriRo® Ride, a board on which people can stand, eliminates the need for walking and also long-distance walking.
